Adel mayor responds to weekend shooting
(ADEL, GA) – For Adel law enforcement, the past few days have been busy after multiple people were shot.
With the first incident starting at a Waffle House.
“It actually took place in the parking lot outside of the building, around 3 A.M. While the police were investigating that incident, they heard gunshots over on the 400 block of North Oak Street,” says Adel Mayor, Buddy Duke.
Adel police and Cook County deputies have been working with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations as the pair of incidents appear to be linked.
Mayor Duke says that while these problems haven’t persisted in Adel, they’re going to be stepping up with the GBI..
He tells us, “We don’t feel that this is anything that we’re going to get alarmed about. Were going to take full, 100 percent control of it with our law enforcement, the sheriff’s department, adel police, and the georgia bureau of investigation.”
And Mayor Duke has one message for those who are thinking about causing acts of violence in the city.
“I feel that with a few of these things going down, such as this, people are trying to test the waters here in adel. We’re not gonna allow that to happen. We’re gonna put them in jail, and we’re gonna let them serve some time and think about it before they pull the trigger again,” says Adel’s mayor.
