(THOMASVILLE, GA) – A group of Thomasville nurses are raising money to help one of their co-workers suffering from COVID-19.

The Nurses for Tracey campaign was started by a couple of fellow nurses, such as Jillian Cardwell-Chestnut, after Tracey Simmons contracted the virus while working on the front lines.

In less than a week, the campaign to help the single mother of two has raised more than eleven thousand dollars.

Chestnut says the outpouring of support for someone who’s been dedicating to helping people over the last 15 years has been overwhelming.

She says, “To get that kind of support for someone who is amazing as Tracey is and her family, who is just as amazing as they are, it’s absolutely amazing, and we’re so thankful that people are getting behind this.”

If you would like to donate to Nurses for Tracey, you can visit their campaign at their GoFundMe page.
