Dr. Howard Melton with the Colquitt Regional Medical Center says that coronavirus testing has ramped up in the region however, that isn’t necessarily the reason why more cases of COVID-19 are popping up in the area.

“Some of it is that there is more testing available so we’re getting more positive tests and the acuity keeps going down the death rate keeps going down that’s because we’re identifying all these people that are minimally symptomatic or asymptomatic that are still positive for the disease.”
