Masks now required to ride public transit

ALBANY, Ga. – In an effort to slow down the spread of COVID-19, Albany Transit riders will be required to wear a face mask or a face covering to ride the city buses.
Face coverings can be made of a variety of cloth materials, such as bandanas, neck scarves, triangle bandages, t-shirts, sweatshirts, washcloths, or towels. You can even fold several paper towels into a rectangle and use two rubber bands to secure them over your ears. A face covering can be made of cloth, fabric, or other soft or permeable material, but it should not have holes. Holes or one-way valves allow droplets out of the mask, putting others nearby at risk.
Masks are just one tool to use in the fight against the spread of COVID-19. Follow these five protecting tips to help keep our community safe:
- Wear a clean mask at work and in public at all times. Everyone!
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water or use hand sanitizeroften.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Do not congregate in groups and always maintain a distance of six feet fromothers when you are in public.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces often.
Masks will also be made available for pickup at these locations
