Pedestrian fatally struck identified

80 year old Verdell Jones died Sunday night, trying to cross East Oglethorpe

ALBANY, GA – Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler identifies the senior citizen killed Sunday night after being struck by a passing vehicle.

Fowler says 80 year old Verdell Jones died from the injuries suffered in the collision.

The coroner says the accident happened a little after 8pm in the 400 block of East Oglethorpe and that no charges will be filed against the driver.
