CORDELE, GA- Trae Sims, a concerned citizen addressed the Cordele City Commission Tuesday night.
“Mr. Deriso has violated multiple sections of Georgia Title 45. Dude, I got facts out the rear end. You want facts? Let’s get facts,” said Sims.
Sims attempted to present what he alleges are facts regarding decisions made by Chairman Deriso since taking office.
Chairman Deriso would have Sims escorted out after the two got into a tense exchange.
“Use your 5 minutes to speak on that or you are not going to speak against me, or you will be removed,” said Deriso
“Come down here and remove me then,” said Sims.
Deriso cites city policy in his decision to have Sims removed from Tuesday’s meeting.
“First one, no person shall be allowed to make obscene, derogatory, or slanderous remarks that disrupt the orderly conduct of the meeting. Second one, no person shall disrupt or interfere in anyway with the conduct of the meeting,” said Josh Deriso, Cordele City Chairman.
Deriso says because Smith violated city policy that was grounds for his removal.
South Georgia Television News reached out to sims for comment but have not heard back from him yet.
