ALBANY, Ga. — With more positive cases of COVID-19 being announced in Albany, construction crews at Phoebe Hospital’s North Campus have been hard at work.

They’re building an additional, temporary COVID-19 care facility on-site that will manage cases as Coronavirus activity continues to rage in Southwest Georgia.

The temporary facility will feature 24 beds, and patients are to receive the same care as those in the emergency room.

Georgia Emergency Management Agency officials say that once it’s completed, the Coronavirus care unit will remain active until further notice.
