APD: No charges in Slappey fatal pedestrian accident

ALBANY, GA – An Albany Police spokesperson says no charges are expected to be filed against the motorist who struck and killed a pedestrian early Monday morning.

APD’s Crisis Communications Manager Sylah Ferguson says 67 year old Tommy Steedly was driving his  southbound on North Slappey Boulevard when the man was struck in front of the Paradise Inn around 7am.

Ferguson says based on witness statements from the scene, no charges will be filed.

The victim has been identified, but authorities are withholding that information until next of kin are notified.
