ALBANY, GA – Flames at an East Albany apartment complex put the Albany Fire Department into action this afternoon.

Preliminary details are few, as firefighters are still on the scene of the 2400 block of Brierwood Drive.

But at least one residence at the Brierwood Pointe Apartment Homes caught fire this afternoon.

Damage suggests the flames burned through the second story of the building, leaving gaping holes to the roof.

Albany Public Information Officer Krista Monk says firefighters are trying to keep the blaze from threatening other units.

No word of any injuries as of now.

More details as they become available here on South Georgia Television News.
