Where Is Jessica Dietzel? 2 Years Later, No Real Credible Leads Into Her Disappearance

ALBANY, Ga. – The unanswered question remains, two years after the disappearance of Jessica Vanzant Dietzel. Her family, local law enforcement, and the Good Life City as a whole, are still stumped as the case remains unsolved.

Kristina Johnson is still long for answers, but there are still no credible leads that can help law enforcement in tracking down Jessica

“Nothing, nothing, nothing. February 18th is the last known time or day that the law enforcement has her pin pointed as being having been seen or heard from.” said Kristina Johnson, Jessica Dietzel’s mom.

Sadly Albany Police Chief Michael Persley concurs.

“We’re still at the same point where we were prior. No new information, no new credible leads, we’ll say that; that have some forward.” said Chief Michael Persley, with the Albany Police Department.

Persley adds that there were reports of Jessica being spotted in Jackson County, Florida but not anything credible that will help in the investigation.

“That was a few weeks ago, nothing that we found that would lead us to believe if Jessica is their area or not.” said Persley.

Now retired former Chief Investigator Craig Dodd with the Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office has been closely working on this case, as the sheriff’s office has been assisting in the case. Dodd says that there are now potential suspects.

“We did have three suspects in the case, I know that we still have those 3 suspects. They were from different angles of the case, I can’t go into that right now with it still being an active case.” said Dodd.

But through it all, Kristina Johnson continues to ride an emotional roller coaster with no seeming in.

“It is uh, it’s hard to explain it. It’s like a limbo, it’s no kind of closure. Each day you get up to the same day of wondering where she is, what has happened.” said Johnson.

Johnson tells us that this is not like her daughter for there to be no communication at all, as she fears the worst knowing her daughter’s two years of silence.

“When that communication had ceased we knew something. When we figured out all of us had not heard from her, it was the danger, danger we were like “we gotta get hunting for her, something has occurred.” said Johnson.

Now she’s left to play not only grieving mom, but grandmother too.

“It’s difficult, because grandparents get to spoil and give them back and then I have to like put on the parent role and step out of grandma.” said Johnson.

For now Kristina says it’s all about protecting Elana and not wanting her to go through the pain of now knowing where her mom is.

“I don’t want her to be a child that’s hurting, wondering where my mama is. “What happened to my mama?” Of course, I’ll be prepared for that and I’ll share everything about her mommy because her mommy is beautiful and loves her.” said Johnson.
