DOUGLAS, GA-  Albany Area Primary Health Care (AAPHC) will host a Family Vaccination Event in Dawson, Georgia on Saturday, January 29.   The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Gymnasium next to Public Safety Building.  The address is 432 Crawford Street NE, Dawson, GA 39842.    This event is open to the entire community and vaccines are available for all 5 years of age and older.

AAPHC is one of Georgia’s largest Community Health Centers and has more than 25 medical offices located across Southwest Georgia.   “AAPHC’s Dawson Medical Center, which includes Dr. Michael Sein, Dr. Rupert Dyer, and Frances Parrish, FNP, are long-time medical providers for this community,” says Brandy Church, spokesperson for AAPHC. “They, along with our entire AAPHC team, want to ensure the Dawson community has access to these free COVID-19 vaccines.”

AAPHC will administer the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccines for those 18 years and older, while Phoebe Putney Health System will be on-site to administer the Pfizer COVID vaccine for those 5 years and older.   Appointments are not necessary but you can pre-register by calling 229-995-2990.

“If anyone would like more information about this event, please visit our Web Site at www.aaphc.org/events,” says Joycelyn Yates, Chief Quality Officer for AAPHC. “We have also included two COVID-19 videos, which feature our Dr. Frances Ferguson and Dr. Edward Vance, speaking about vaccine safety and answering some of your frequently asked questions.”

“We hope the community will join us at this Family Vaccination Event,” says Joycelyn. “Not only will we have the vaccines available, but we’ll also have bagged lunches, drinks and giveaways available for every attendee who comes to the event.”

“This event is free and open to the entire community of Southwest Georgia,” says Joycelyn. “We are in the middle of this latest COVID surge and it is more important than ever to get vaccinated against COVID.”
