Green guilty in Tifton’s Mother’s Day murder

Tuesday evening, a Tift County jury found Devontay Green guilty in Zeni Marie Travis taxi cab slaying

TIFTON, GA – A Tift County jury has returned guilty verdicts in the case of the 2018 Mother’s Day murder of 47 year old Zeni Marie Travis.

30 year old Devontay Green was found guilty of armed robbery and felony murder in connection to the May 13th slaying.

Investigators say Green called for a cab ride to the 400 block of Mathis Street where upon arrival at the destination, he robbed the victim’s cab driving mother and fatally shot Travis, who would later die at a nearby hospital.

Sentencing is set for January 14th.
