City of Albany seeks input for community needs assessment
ALBANY, Ga. – The City of Albany Community and Economic Development is asking residents to share their input as part of a community needs assessment that will help shape the city’s future planning.
Officials say the assessment will guide Albany’s next five-year Consolidated Plan, which determines how federal funding is used to support housing, infrastructure, and community services.
The plan, required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, will outline priorities for programs funded through grants such as Community Development Block Grants and HOME Investment Partnerships.
City leaders say community feedback plays a key role in deciding how those funds are allocated, including addressing housing needs, economic development, public services, and fair housing issues.
Residents can participate in several ways, including completing an online survey, attending a community workshop, or submitting written feedback.
Officials say all responses will remain confidential and will be used in a combined, summary format.
For more information, residents can contact the Community and Economic Development Office at 229-483-7650. Those with questions or who would like to provide input directly can also email April Mahone at amahone@albanyga.gov or Eryca Fambro at efambro@corelinkllc.com.
