High winds cause minor damage, power outage at Phoebe East in Albany

ALBANY, Ga. — High winds moving through Southwest Georgia this morning caused minor damage to Phoebe East, leaving the facility temporarily without power.

Officials with Phoebe Putney Health System say a Mobile Wellness Clinic is being moved to the site to continue serving Corporate Health patients while power is restored.

Patients seeking care at Phoebe Urgent Care East Albany are temporarily being directed to Phoebe Urgent Care North Campus, located at 2000 Palmyra Road.

Forecasters issued severe weather alerts across parts of South Georgia Thursday morning, with storms producing strong winds, heavy rain, and scattered power outages. Hospital officials say conditions contributed to the temporary disruptions at Phoebe East.

Phoebe Putney Health System will provide updates as they become available and thank patients for their understanding.
