Theft of mislaid property at Ledo Road Walmart suspect turns herself into authorities
LEESBURG, Ga. – After being featured on the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, a woman accused of theft has turned herself in.
Authorities say Cherrie Hudson surrendered to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office on the morning of February 17, 2026.
Hudson is charged with one count of Misdemeanor Theft of Lost or Mislaid Property under Georgia law.
Investigators say the charge stems from an incident on February 14th at the Ledo Road Walmart, where Hudson allegedly took one hundred dollars from a register that another customer had accidentally left behind. Surveillance video reportedly shows the suspect placing the cash into her purse before leaving the store.
The sheriff’s office says the suspect arrived and left the location in a white Cadillac Escalade.
“We appreciate the community’s assistance and engagement in helping us to resolve this matter quickly.”
