City of Albany updates Operation Safe Place hours

City of Albany, Albany Fire Department, Dougherty County Emergency Management Agency

Albany, GA – On Friday, February 6, the City of Albany will extend its weekend hours for the Warming Center due to the anticipated cold front. On Saturday, the Warming Center will open at 6 p.m. through 7 a.m. At that point, the Transportation Center will be closed due to its regular business hours.

According to the current forecast, overnight freezing temperatures are expected to last through February 7th.

The Albany Transit Center at 300 W. Oglethorpe Boulevard will be open from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Friday, February 6th, and Saturday, February 7th.

We will continue to monitor the weather to see if the warming center will need to be extended or any additional days will need to be included.
