South Georgia Weather Authority Forecast: January 5, 2026

Widespread dense morning fog over the next several days will reduce visibility less than a mile to less than a quarter of a mile at times. As fog lifts by late morning, areas of low cloudiness may produce patchy drizzle or mist. Slow down, allow for extra time to reach your destination, increase distance between vehicles, and use low-beam headlights. Unseasonable warmth builds that may approach near record territory (82° 1957) by Friday. A strong cold front arrives with chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms on Saturday. Much colder air returns thereafter. Near freezing temperatures are possible by early next week.
