South Georgia Weather Authority Forecast: January 2, 2026
Stormy Saturday! There’s a Marginal Risk of Severe Storms (level 1/5) for the entire area from late morning through the early evening, but mainly during the afternoon hours. The primary threats are isolated damaging wind gusts (40-60 mph), instances of small to medium or larger size hail (quarter size; 1″ in diameter), and a low, but non-zero chance of an isolated tornado or two. These impacts may cause tree damage and sporadic power outages from downed power lines. Make sure you have multiple ways to receive watches/warnings! Seasonably cooler and drier rest of the weekend. Warming trend takes over much of next week.
