South Georgia Weather Authority Forecast: October 9, 2025
Gloomy skies and dreary conditions with breezy winds to end out the work week. Morning showers lasting into early afternoon possible. This is the last opportunity for measurable rainfall for quite some time. Wonderful weekend in the works with abundant sunshine. Cooler, crisp mornings and warm, wall-to-wall sunshine dominates mid-week. Heating up latter half of next week.
Latest Drought Monitor shows Extreme Drought has developed near the Hwy 319 corridor in SWGA. With rainfall generally less than an inch over the past 7 days, above normal temperatures and below normal precipitation forecasted by Climate Prediction Center, and no real relief in sight expect drought conditions to continue worsening for remainder of October. It will take a late season tropical system to work on growing rainfall deficits. That does not appear to be the case, at least for now.
Jerry is expected to pass near the northern Leeward Islands this evening into tonight then turn northward, strengthen to a hurricane and bend away from Bermuda. A Nor’easter slams the U.S. East Coast with heavy rains, gale force winds, major coastal flooding and beach erosion, dangerous rip currents and surfs, and marine conditions this weekend.
