South Georgia Weather Authority Forecast: September 30, 2025

September ends the second driest ever on record with 0.66″ of rainfall measured for the month in Albany, GA. Persistent north-northeasterly flow keeps breezy winds around becoming stronger on Thursday and over the weekend with a tightening of the pressure gradient. Gusts could reach as high as 30 mph at times. Seasonable temperatures cool to near or slightly below average especially in the mornings.

The Atlantic basin remains below average despite the recent ramp up in activity. Hurricanes Imelda and Humberto continue to churn over the western Atlantic simultaneously. Humberto will exit north of Bermuda and transition into a large extra-tropical cyclone. Imelda is forecast to take a direct hit on the island of Bermuda with direct impacts from a Category 2 100 mph strength hurricane. Swells from Imelda and Humberto will cause dangerous surfs and rip currents along much of the U.S. East Coast for several more days.
