South Georgia Weather Authority Forecast: September 22, 2025
Fall officially began with the Autumnal Equinox at 2:19 pm Eastern Time today. Areas of patchy fog tomorrow morning. Summer-like heat peaks mid-week with highs in the mid-upper 90s. Better rain chances via a cold front arrives for latter half of the week. While beneficial, rainfall totals will be generally light and not drought-busting at least in our part of the country. Seasonal weekend ahead in the mid-upper 80s and 60s.
In the tropics, Gabrielle is now the second Hurricane and Major (Category 4) Hurricane of the season. Gabrielle may strengthen some more as it moves away from Bermuda towards the Azores. There are two additional areas to watch in the central Atlantic that have Medium and High chances of tropical development. Some of the operational models are indicating gradual development in general vicinity of SW Atlantic. Humberto and Imelda are the next names on the list.
