South Georgia Weather Authority Forecast: August 19, 2025

A few early evening sprinkles or rain showers, but most stay dry. Seasonably hot into mid-week. Increasing rain chances by end of the week. Wetter and cooler than average temperatures this weekend. Less humid and even cooler next week with a taste of fall. Morning lows dip into the 60s.

5 pm 8/19/25 NHC: Hurricane Erin has weakened slightly to Category 2 and is moving northward to pass in between the U.S. East Coast and Bermuda. Tropical Storm Warnings and Watches are in effect for portions of North Carolina, Virginia and Bermuda. Hazardous beach conditions including high surfs, dangerous and life-threatening rip currents, some beach erosion, and storm surge remains possible from the eastern seaboard to Canada. NHC is monitoring two additional disturbances for possible tropical development. Medium chance for tropical wave that will approach the northern Leeward Islands by Friday. A second tropical wave (Invest 99L) off west coast of Africa has a low chance of development as it tracks generally westward across the far eastern Atlantic Ocean.
