South Georgia Weather Authority Forecast: August 11, 2025

Rain chances do taper down as the heat turns up again the rest of the work week. Heat index may climb towards 105° by the weekend.

In the tropics, Tropical Storm Erin has formed over the far eastern Atlantic off the west coast of Africa near the Cabo Verde Islands. Initial official forecast track shows a gradually strengthening storm to 2025’s first Hurricane, then Major Hurricane of the season. Model consensus does show a turn north of the Leeward Islands by the weekend. Beyond that timeframe, there is inherently much uncertainty, but we have plenty of time to watch Erin and other tropical waves that will proceed her.
