South Georgia Wellbeing Alliance Disaster Preparedness Event
VALDOSTA, Ga. – Severe weather can strike at any time, and one local event is helping families stay prepared. Join the South Georgia Wellbeing Alliance for a disaster preparedness event this Thursday, July 31 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Mildred Hunter Center in Valdosta.
You’ll learn how to build a family emergency plan, put together a preparedness kit, and even sign up for local alerts from Lowndes EMA. And, for the kids, there will be a special storytime featuring “Pedro the Penguin,” designed to teach children about weather safety in a fun and engaging way.
This event is free and open to the community. For more details, send an email to Lauryn Winger at lwinger@bhsga.com.
