Echols Co. Sheriff’s Office, GBI actively investigating home invasion and armed robbery of migrant work camp; requesting the public’s assistance in ongoing manhunt
STATENVILLE, Ga. – The following is a post from the Echols County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page:
“The Echols County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a home invasion and armed robbery that occurred early this morning in the 1700 block of Highway 129 South, at a migrant work camp.”
“The incident involved four masked, Black males, armed with a rifle and several pistols, and wearing body armor. After the robbery, the suspects fled the scene and possibly crossed into Florida. The nine alleged victims were then able to contact 911 for help.”
“We are asking anyone who may have seen suspicious activity or has any information to please contact Investigator Lt. K. Lewis at 229-559-5603. Your tip—no matter how small—could be critical in solving this case.”
