South Georgia Weather Authority Forecast: May 28, 2025
Lower rain chances overall for Hump Day, but isolated thunderstorms remain possible throughout this evening especially for southern communities. Rain and thunderstorms become more widespread and take over the rest of the week. There is a marginal risk of severe weather and excessive rainfall that could cause flash flooding on Thursday. Friday has been upgraded to a Slight Risk (Level 2/5) for severe weather. Late season cold front with a moist and unstable air mass may produce damaging straight-line wind gusts, large hail, and perhaps a higher than normal chance of a tornado. Stay tuned for updates! Rain totals will average 1″-2″ but some may locally exceed 3″. Cooler and drier with lower humidity this weekend. Seasonably hot temperatures return next week.
