Arrest warrants issued for ‘armed and dangerous’ suspect in Wilcox Co. double homicide

PINEVIEW, Ga. – Wilcox County Sheriff Jeff Wessel has announced that arrest warrants have been issued in connection with a double homicide that occurred in Pineview, Georgia, on May 25, 2025.

At approximately 12:14 a.m. on that date, Quintavis Holt (Black Male, 39 years old) arrived at 205 Depot Street in Pineview, where he encountered Nathadius Lawson (Black Male, 39) and Charleston Calix (Black Male, 40). Lawson and Calix were socializing in an outbuilding behind the residence when Holt allegedly opened fire, fatally wounding both men. He then fled the scene on foot and remains at large.

Deputies from the Wilcox County Sheriff’s Office responded immediately and began searching for the suspect. Sheriff Wessel subsequently requested assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), who joined the investigation.

Through the combined efforts of Sheriff’s Office deputies and GBI agents—using witness interviews and residential surveillance footage—Quintavis Holt was identified as the suspected shooter. Arrest warrants have since been obtained.

Holt faces the following charges:

  • One count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime (Felony)
  • One count of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (Felony)
