South Georgia Weather Authority Forecast: May 7, 2025
Grab the umbrellas! Wetter weather pattern is still on the way starting tomorrow and Friday extending into the weekend and possibly early next week. Moisture increases associated with a stationary frontal boundary with waves of low pressure and a slow-moving upper level low cut-off from the jet stream. Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday some of which may become strong to severe with isolated damaging wind and hail the main threat. Rain and thunderstorms likely for a Saturday soaker and a soggy Mother’s Day. Showers linger into Monday. Even with antecedent dry conditions localized flash flooding is possible. 4″-6″+ of rainfall is expected areawide with locally higher totals possible. A Flood Watch may be issued as confidence increases with regards to where the heaviest rain will set up later this week into the weekend.
