Thomasville PD provides shopping and exchange safe zone

THOMASVILLE, GA – The popularity of online buying and selling skyrocketed during the Covid-19 pandemic and shows no sign of slowing down. Buyers and sellers usually meet to exchange payment and items and while most transactions go flawlessly, there have been instances of violence or robberies as a result.

To make shopping and child custody exchanges safer, the Thomasville Police Department has created a safety exchange zone in their parking lot. Under video surveillance 24/7 and well-lit, the area is well marked and provides a safe place to meet and swap safely.
