Warwick Juanita Kinchen says 25th Annual National Grits Festival: “It’s just been blessed”

WARWICK, Ga. – Over in Warwick, me and a few hundred people from all over Georgia got to stuff our bellies full for the 25th Annual National Grits Festival.

Saturdays festivities included a Cook-Off, Grits Eating Contest, Grits Toss, Corn Shelling Contest, Treasure Hunt, and the Grits Pit.

But of course, it was about more than just my father’s favorite breakfast food, there were 95 vendors this year, some selling their own mouth-watering food, while the others sold clothing items and knick knacks.

There was also music throughout the day, and games for the kids to enjoy, making the 25th annual event another success.

“So, out of the 25 years that you say, it’s just been blessed. It’s just been blessed,” said Mayor Juanita Kinchen, City of Warwick.

The National Grits Festival takes place every year on the second Saturday in April.
