Law enforcement agencies partner to host second annual Girls Empowerment Workshop this weekend

ALBANY, Ga. – And, heading over to Dougherty county, law enforcement is gearing up to help young women this weekend.

The Albany Police Department (APD) and the Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) is hosting their second annual Girls Empowerment Workshop.

Both agencies will be providing guidance to girls ages 8-16 years old.

Corporal Franklin with the Albany Police Department (APD) spoke with us about being able to make an impact, on young women’s lives.

“Give them something to look up to. We got some pretty great women that work in our department who pretty much love the people in our community, especially the young ladies. So for them to see powerful women, great women that are doing great work in our communities. This is pretty much awesome,” said Cpl. Dramoksi Franklin, APD.

The workshop will take place Saturday morning at 610 West Oglethorpe Boulevard from 10 a.m. to Noon.
