Magnolia Early Childhood Education Center Pre-K hosts “If You Give a Pig a Pancake” Family Literacy Night event brings children’s book to life

ALBANY, Ga. – Hopefully the levels of adorableness doesn’t break your TV screens…

But, this night was full of family fun.

Magnolia Pre-K hosted its “If You Give a Pig a Pancake” event, bringing the beloved children’s book to life.

The evening kicked off with a lively reading, featuring a teacher who went above and beyond to deliver a standout performance.

Families then explored different classrooms, where pancake-themed games, crafts, and prizes added to the fun, creating sweet memories for these young students.

“It’s for community. Just bringing the kids and families together with the teachers, just showing them that learning is fun. It you make it fun the kids will gravitate to it and it enjoy it while learning,” said Lorraine Jackson, Site Coordinator, Magnolia Pre-K.

You didn’t think I’d forget the best part, did you?

Before heading home, families enjoyed a delicious helping of pancakes and sausage, ensuring everyone went to bed with full bellies.

But, the message of the event was what stood out the most,

As Magnolia Pre-K proved that education can be exciting, even after the school day ends.

“Well, learning outside of the school hours allows their parents and family to come in. Usually during school hours most parents are working. But, after school they can take some time to come in and see what we’re doing with the students during the day. And, they can enjoy working with them,” said Jackson.

Every single student there went home with their own copy of “If You Give a Pig a Pancake”,

Taking with them lasting memories of laughter, learning, and quality time with teachers and family.
