UPDATE: Victims identified; 2 dead in fatal wrong-way crash on I-75 in Crisp Co.

CORDELE, Ga. – Crisp Co. Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that two women were involved in fatal collision on I-75 Wednesday morning.

The female drivers have been identified as 27-year-old, Desiaree Nikita Coley, of Hahira and 35-year-old, Cassidy Lott Esterson, of Douglas according to Crisp County Coroner Richard Wright.

No foul play is suspected at this time, but blood samples have been sent to State Crime Lab for testing.

At approximately 1:00 AM on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, a head-on collision occurred on I-75 near mile post 103. A vehicle traveling north in the south lane collided with a vehicle traveling south. A 911 call had been received just prior to the accident. Deputies searching for the wrong-way vehicle came upon the crash. Both drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene. The accident is under investigation by the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from Crisp County Fire Rescue, Crisp County EMS, Cordele Police Department, and Crisp County Coroner. The release of the victims’ information will be at a later time, families have been notified.
