Coffee Co. man arrested for elderly abuse and neglect of disabled person

DOUGLAS, Ga. – And, in Coffee County, on Saturday, officers visited a Douglas home for a wellness check on a 65-year-old woman with a double amputee.

Her family would tell authorities that 31-year-old Shaquil Paulk was supposed to be looking after her.

Inside the home, authorities found that she was left for an extended period, resulting in her suffering from bed sores, dehydration, and troubled speaking.

She was taken to Coffee Regional Medical Center, while Paulk is in custody.

Paulk is charged with neglect of a disabled adult, and could face up to 20 years in prison, plus a 50 thousand dollar fine.
