Sylvester-Worth Co. cuts ribbon on new regional airport terminal
SYLVESTER, Ga. -We move over to Worth County, where the City of Sylvester is celebrating the opening of their new regional airport.
Mayor Harold Proctor says the new terminal has been designed for private planes to be able to land and refuel in the city.
Both Mayor Proctor, and City Manager, Chris Davis spoke about the impact, the new terminal will have for the city.
“This investment actually allows for VIPs flying into our community. We have a lot of people with a lot of money that come here. But, in order for them to actually give it to our community they have to fly to various places like Albany, Tallahassee, even Atlanta, sometimes. This will give them an opportunity to actually land in our community, to invest in our community,” said Mayor Harold Proctor, City of Sylvester.
“Sylvester-Worth is growing and with a functional municipal airport that makes those realities come true. So, you know, I appreciate the understanding from our taxpayers and our mayor council to see their future as we move forward,” said Chris Davis, City Manager.
Mayor Proctor says they hope to begin working on additional hangars over the next ten months.
