Tifton authorities seek vehicle in fatal hit-and-run

TIFTON, Ga. – In more Tifton news, authorities are searching for a white Dodge Durango linked to a fatal hit-and-run.

Investigators say 81-year-old Johnnie McKinnon was struck by multiple vehicles Thursday on U.S. Highway 82 near Tift Avenue. He later died at Tift Regional Medical Center.

A witness says McKinnon was walking “too close to the road” when he stepped into traffic. One vehicle hit him, followed by an 18-wheeler that swerved on ice.
