ATLANTA, Ga. – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments reappointed State Representative Bill Yearta (R-Sylvester) as the Chairman of the House Code Revision Committee and as Vice Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government.
“I’m honored to continue serving as Chairman of the House Code Revision Committee and as Vice Chair of the General Government Subcommittee on Appropriations,” said Rep. Yearta. “These leadership roles will allow me to continue working on policies beneficial not only to southwest Georgia, but across the state. I look forward to serving and want to thank Speaker Burns and the Committee on Assignments for putting their trust in me.”
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
The House Code Revision Committee is responsible for technical and grammatical revisions of Georgia’s statutes. Its goal is to revise, modernize and correct errors or omissions in Georgia’s Code and to repeal those portions which have become obsolete, have been declared to be unconstitutional or have been preempted or superseded by subsequent laws.
