Albany Transit Buses and Flights Canceled Due to Icy Road Conditions

ALBANY, Ga. — On Wednesday, January 22, City of Albany buses will not be running and all flights have been canceled.

Due to icy road conditions, Albany Transit will not operate on Wednesday. The City will consider a delayed start to Transit on Thursday if conditions improve. Any updates will be shared with the public.

Also, due to the dangerous conditions, the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport Terminal and Airfield will be closed.

The Transportation Center will remain open as a warming center.

We apologize for the inconvenience. The City is prioritizing the safety of the passengers, staff, and other drivers.

The City urges everyone to avoid these dangerous road conditions and stay off the roads as much as possible.

Winter weather has settled into the region, prompting some changes.

Albany Transit has adjusted its schedule to ensure the safety of passengers and staff. Service was delayed today to allow for safer travel during the weather event.

Tuesday, services ended early to allow staff to return home safely ahead of the storm. The City of Albany remains committed to safeguarding passengers, employees, and the community during hazardous road conditions.
