Man wanted on drug charges, Update on shooting at Slappey Blvd. Walmart

ALBANY, Ga. – On January 5, 2025, officers responded to Walmart (2486 N Slappey Blvd) in reference to a shooting. Once on scene, witnesses advised a black male was seen shooting at a white male in a purple Tahoe truck. The black male then fled in a white Lexus. The altercation continued, and a short time later, officers located the purple Tahoe. The Tahoe fled, and officers engaged in a short pursuit. Joseph Jackson Jr. was charged with Aggravated Assault for his involvement in this incident.

William Larry Hagan was discharged from Phoebe Putney Hospital on Friday, January 10, 2025, for his injuries involved in the shooting. The Albany-Dougherty Special Investigative Unit has issued warrants for his arrest for Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute, Possession of Drug-related objects, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of a scheduled two-drug, Trafficking methamphetamine, Trafficking Fentanyl, Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (3 counts), and Tampering with Evidence.
