Hundreds of donated toys picked up by Marines with Albany Toys for Tots
ALBANY, Ga. – On Tuesday morning in Albany, U.S. Marines picked up hundreds of holiday gifts from Georgia’s Own Credit Union for its “Toys for Tots” program.
Today’s donation is the culmination of a month-long toy drive across the six Georgia’s Own branches in Southwest Georgia, with members and employees from Albany, East Albany, Lee County, Americus, Moultrie and Tifton all joining the effort.
“Toys for Tots” aims to bring joy to economically disadvantaged children nationwide by collecting donated gifts from the public, with some of the most popular items donated this year including toy cars, dolls and sports equipment.
This marks the 18th consecutive year Georgia’s Own has hosted a drive supporting “Toys for Tots” in Southwest Georgia.
