Tift Animal Rescue & Daniel Shippey Photography pet portraits fundraiser

TIFTON, Ga. – “We think it’s just a good cause. We enjoy just coming out and being able to support the community. It’s it’s part of our responsibility, I think, just to do things like this to help out with the animals,” said Daniel Shippey.

Over the weekend, Tift Animal Rescue and Daniel Shippey Photography delivered a special holiday treat to Tifton residents during their 7th annual fundraiser.

“Daniel Shippey here donates his time to help take great pet photography for the public to be able to enjoy, great photos of their pets during the holidays,” said Candence Hernandez.

Candice Hernandez and Leah Robbins organized the fundraiser to support a meaningful cause.

“All money raised through this event goes to Tift Animal Rescue, which is a nonprofit that helps support the local animal shelter. They help save animals that need immediate medical attention, provide medicine to animals that are sick, coming and entering the animal shelter, and we work hard to find them, homes and outside rescue organizations that can save them,” said Hernandez.

Along with photos, participants had the opportunity to bid on items through a silent auction.

“They have a silent auction upfront, which people can fill out information for the various things they’re offering there. And. there’s also a small sitting fee just for us coming to take the photo that also is going straight toward the animal shelter,” said Shippey.

However, cats and dogs weren’t the only ones posing for photos.

“Yeah. We’ve had a a bearded dragon come today and get some great photos with his little Santa hat on,” said Hernandez.

“Yeah. We we’ll take pictures of anybody’s pets. Or, just if if the family wants to come get a photo, they don’t have to bring a pet. They’re welcome to come too. People only will work too,” said Robbins.

Thanks to organizers, volunteers, and community supporters, the funds raised will provide medical care, shelter, and hope for pets seeking forever homes.
