Richard Wright defeats Incumbent Ricky Dawson Jr. in Crisp Co. Coroner race

CORDELE, Ga. – And, as we continue our coverage of the 2024 election results, we move over to Crisp county where there’s a major upset in the coroner’s race.

Crisp county voted for Republican, Richard Wright as their next county coroner.

Wright defeated Incumbent Coroner, Ricky Dawson Jr. with 59 percent of the vote.

We got a chance to speak with the coroner-elect, earlier this afternoon…

And… he’s looking forward to putting in the work.

“…And, I go to great detail and to getting things right. Not close, but right. And that’s the thought that I’m going to bring in with the Corner’s Office is we’re not going to get it close. We’re going to get it right every time. So, nobody is going to be dissatisfied,” said Richard Wright, Coroner-elect, Crisp Co.

Wright previously served as the Crisp County Deputy Coroner under longtime Coroner Jimmy Rainey.
