It’s rainy night in South Georgia. Moderate Risk 40% chance or greater of excessive rainfall extended south & east near & along the I-75 corridor. Prepare now for the potential for flash flooding. 2″-4″ of rainfall with isolated amounts 6″-8″ even isolated 10″ possible. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood prone locations. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. When encountering flooding turn around don’t drown!
Hurricane Rafael is producing life-threatening storm surge, damaging hurricane-force winds, and flash flooding to portions of western Cuba. Rafael will be westbound and down and weakening to a Tropical Storm as it moves generally westward across central Gulf of Mexico then meander there as it encounters wind shear, cooler waters, and drier air.
