Adventist Fellowship Church hosts International Food Parade
LEESBURG, Ga. – You don’t need to leave the country to experience new cuisine because one special church us bringing the food straight to the community.
Adventist Fellowship Church hosted its International Food Parade over the weekend, celebrating the diverse nationalities represented within the ministry.
“We’re celebrating the unity in the church. We have 18 different nationalities, so we want to celebrate that. And, we want to send the message to the community of unity in Christ so we can help each other and love each other and embrace each other. So, we have today, like you see different canopies, that present different cultures in the church, and they are giving food away and show people how their culture is and how they can get to know each other. So, we just want to send a message of unity to the community,” said Nestor Amparo, Pastor, Adventist Fellowship Church.
Kicking off the festivities was an international parade, where church members proudly carried their national flags, walking around the church grounds in a symbolic display of cultural pride and togetherness.
“We have Haitian, Jamaican, Dominican, Colombian, Cuban, Puerto Rican, and Nigeria. We also have Ghana. We have Ecuador, Salvador, Mexico. We are all together here showing how powerful god is to unite us in love,” said Pastor Amparo.
Nestor Amparo, Pastor of Adventist Fellowship Church, emphasized how unity and understanding across cultures strengthen both the congregation and the community at large.
“We not only want to show the message of God, that he can unite us, but also that we can get a better community, healthier, safer if we all get together and help each other with our needs. We know there’s a lot of needs, but society needs unity so we can have a better community. So, we wish to send that message too,” said Pastor Amparo.
Pastor Nestor Amparo affirmed the church’s commitment to serving the community.
“Adventist Fellowship Church at 381 Fussell Road, we welcome everybody. Everybody is welcomed in the love of Christ. And, we are here to serve the community and show the message of unity. If anybody needs our service? We are here for that,” said Pastor Amparo.
