High speed police chase ends in fatal crash
One dead at the scene, another life-flighted with serious injuries

CORDELE, GA – One person is dead and another seriously injured after a high-speed police chase out of Dooly County ends in Crisp County Wednesday afternoon.
Crisp County authorities say they got the call a little before 4pm regarding a chase involving Dooly County deputies along I-75 southbound. Initial reports suggest deputies were trying to stop the vehicle for alleged speeding.
The chase ended in Crisp County as the speeding vehicle wrecked on the off-ramp of exit 101.
One person was declared dead at the scene, another had to be extricated out of the vehicle and was taken to a hospital via Air Evac.
The accident is being investigated by Georgia State Patrol. Other first responders on scene included The Cordele Police Department, Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, Crisp County EMS, Dooly County Sheriff’s Office and Crisp County Power Commission.
Crisp County Power was called to the scene because the collision took down a light pole.
