East Albany St. Paul’s Baptist Church’s oldest member celebrates 101st birthday
EAST ALBANY, Ga. – And… one east Albany church is getting set to celebrate the oldest member of their congregation.
This weekend, the church is celebrating the 101st birthday of member Audrey Hawthorne.
Born in Cairo in 1923, Audrey will turn 101 this Sunday, with a celebration at St. Paul’s Baptist Church on Sylvester Road.
We had the pleasure of meeting Audrey on Friday morning and spoke with her about celebrating this milestone birthday.
“I am thanking God that I am here, and with nice people, and I’m happy to be here. I’m really happy to be turning 101.” said Audrey Hawthorne.
