Albany Community Together ACT! to host third annual Business Resource Expo at ASU

ALBANY, Ga. – One Albany group is calling local business owners together for their third annual Business Resource Expo later this week.

Albany Community Together, Vice President of Business Lending, John Hamilton spoke with us as they’re getting final preparations in order for the expo…

And… they’re expecting a major turnout this year.

“I don’t have a number on how many have registered, but we like to think that we’re going to have at least 100 businesses,” said John Hamilton, VP, Business Lending, Albany Community Together.

Albany Community Together (ACT!) is hoping all types of small business owners come out Thursday.

“We like to do the expo to allow business owners or prospective business owners the opportunity to access resources that they will need at some point in the life of their business or at some point in the life of an aspiring entrepreneur,” said Hamilton.

The resources they’ll have on hand include marketing, developing their workforce and financial coaching to name a few.

“So, for example, we’ll have a number of lenders available banks, traditional banks, and we will have at least one other CDFI like ours, which is a Community Development Financial Institution,” said Hamilton.

But… Albany Community Together doesn’t want anyone to be afraid about seeking help.

“Without this kind of event where all these resources are available. It’s difficult for a lot of the businesses that we try to serve to access that. A lot of times they don’t know where to find it or they may be reluctant to look for it,” said Hamilton.

The event is set to start late Thursday afternoon, but there’s still plenty of time to register and get the help your business might need.

The expo will take place in the center ballroom on Albany State University’s West Campus from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday evening.
