Dougherty Co. Commission hosts ACCG Summer Policy Committee Meeting
ALBANY, Ga. – Wednesday morning, the Association of County Commissioners (ACCG) in Albany held a meeting to discuss state issues at the local level.
The group met with Dougherty county leadership and department heads to discuss policies slated for the 2025 legislative session.
Dougherty County Commissioner and Liaison, Clinton Johnson, is eager to hear from all voices as the group prepares to convene in Atlanta.
“It’s the people’s government. So, it is very important because we hear from the people and now we take what we hear and we translate it into policy. And, those policies help shape the laws that govern our communities. And, this input helps us lobby our legislator to make the right decisions for all of our citizens,” said Clinton Johnson, Dougherty County Commissioner, District 3.
Johnson says they’ll be discussing policies through Thursday, with topics ranging from health and human services to public safety and taxation.
