Albany Museum of Art’s monthly Art After School clubs return August 26-27
ALBANY, Ga. – With the school year back in full swing, a local Albany group is preparing to welcome students of all ages back to their after-school program.
The Albany Museum of Art (AMA) is set to launch its 3rd annual Art After School program on Monday, August 26th.
The program is open for students from elementary all the way through high school.
We spoke with the museum’s educational program director to talk about the growth of the program and its impact on local students.
“So, I always say that everybody has their own thing that they’re interested in and they need to find their group. And, there are people that bring that out of them and that they’re comfortable with. And, I love the dedication that our public school art teachers have and our private school art teachers. It’s wonderful. But, sometimes a kid needs a little bit more fostering of that in another environment,” said Annie Vanoteghem, Director of Public Education & Public Programming, Albany Museum of Art.
The program starts on Monday, August 26th. It costs $15 for non-members and $12 for museum members.
