CBS 44 Weather Authority Forecast: July 8, 2024

Long stretch of dangerously hot and humid conditions for at least one more day or two. Heat index “feels like” values up to 105-111 degrees. Seasonal temperatures  – lower to middle 90s – trend along with lower rain chances from slightly drier air as a “cold front” passes through around midweek. Heat index “feels like” a touch lower but still in cautious category 100-105 degrees. Heat & humidity build back along with slightly better rain chances for the weekend and early next week. Beryl made landfall as a Category 1 Hurricane early Monday morning near Matagorda, Texas with large water rise and storm surge inundation along with flash flooding and widespread power outages. Beryl is now a Tropical Storm and is producing multiple fast-moving, rain-wrapped, many confirmed Tropical Tornado Warnings for eastern Texas & western Louisiana.
